Claudia is the intense dreamer behind S.H.E. Globl Media, determined to make a positive dent on the universe for women in her lifetime. Known for “never actually making a long story short,” Claudia credits role models like Oprah, Gloria Steinem, Steve Jobs, Richard Branson and her parents who showed her huge things can be created from nothing. Growing up in a very female-dominated household and always passionate about current events, social issues, politics, and global affairs, Margaret was drawn to Claudia and her vision for S.H.E. Globl Media to champion #RemarkableWomen. Having joined the team in 2011, she found her niche building relationships with partners, speakers, and brands as well as helping to curate S.H.E. Summit content … and sticking her nose in editorial when she can.

Before S.H.E. Global Media: Served as Program Manager for Step Up Women’s Network and dabbled in business development and marketing for Refinery29.

Lauren is the wordsmith and calm behind SHE Globl Media, leading the company’s web and editorial efforts. She is passionate about igniting women and girls to overcome fear and build up confidence. She believes that if girls are exposed to positive role models at a young age, then they have the potential to become unstoppable forces rather than expected statistics.

Before S.H.E. Globl Media: Lauren founded the nonprofit, Finding the Fabulous, which delivers inspiring programming to 8-12 year old girls. She continues to run the nonprofit and is grateful that SGM aligns with her life purpose.

Rebecca sniffs out creative strategizing sessions from miles away– she loves collaborating with smart people on a mission to improve their part of the world. With her eyes firmly on the big picture and her sleeves rolled up ready for action, Rebecca helps her clients refine concepts and bring them to life. Prior to working with startups and entrepreneurs, Rebecca spent a decade on Wall St. and the three years prior in management consultancy. In addition to loving spreadsheets more than any human should, she also enjoys coaching other people looking to leave financial services and reinvent their own careers (www.afterwallstreet.com).

Liz is an event planning superhero by day and closeted tech geek by night. To save people from being conquered by spreadsheets, she resolved to re-channel her organizational and tech savvy expertise and launched Liz King Events while still running events full time for Columbia University. Liz shared game-changing content on event best practices via social media and quickly became an influencer amongst her peers. Outside of client events, Liz uses her prowess to educate and challenge her industry peers on how to better integrate technology into live events to create a more winsome audience experience, through auxiliary outlets techsytalk.com and PlannerTech [Founder].

Michael is an investment professional with over 15 years of experience in private equity.  He was most recently a Director at Lincolnshire Management where he conducted acquisitions with $1.6 billion of capital under management. He also has extensive experience in the venture capital space from his previous tenure at Wachovia Bank, where he completed investments in over a dozen early-stage companies. Michael has served as an officer and board member for companies across a broad range of industries, including advertising, aviation, food and beverage, education, media and transportation. He is also a Princeton 98′ alum and goes head to head with Claudia when it comes to ordering Chinese food.

Mat is the Founder and Managing Member of Black Owl Ventures, a diversified company with operating and financial interests in various consumer internet, media and entertainment properties. Prior to founding BOV, Mat was head of corporate development at Indomitable Entertainment where he assisted the company with all of its film, Broadway and digital media investments. Before Indomitable, Mat was a member of Sony Pictures corporate development team and was an active participant in setting the studio’s strategy and executing transactions for its film, television and digital media divisions. He also has experience in more traditional finance roles having spent a number of years as an analyst in investment banking at Credit Suisse and in venture capital with Archery Venture Partners and Meyer and Company. Mat holds a BS from Boston University’s School of Management and an MBA from NYU Stern.

Ashley is the Editor-in-Chief of DailyCandy where she leads the editorial voice, vision, and strategy for social, web, email, mobile, and video platforms. Previously, Ashley was the Content Director for the Women and Teen Networks at Hearst Digital Media where she directed and managed the digital operations of Harpers Bazaar, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, Redbook, and Seventeen magazines.  During her tenure at Hearst Digital Media, the Women and Teen Networks enjoyed record traffic highs and received multiple awards and accolades for their website content and style.  In her spare time, Ashley is an adjunct professor at her alma mater, New York University, where she enjoys teaching a variety of classes including Content Creation for the New Digital Attention Span, How to Write and Edit for the Web, and a Blogging Workshop. Ashley is also a member of the National Journalism Honors Society. When she’s not focused on total digital domination, you can find Ashley at her neighborhood Bikram yoga studio.

Matthew is the Chairman and Co-Founder of Concordia, dedicated to finding innovative approaches that achieve the greatest amount of impact. Matthew believes it is important to not only help people at the individual level, but to also serve a global good. He is a lifelong entrepreneur with passions in both business and politics. Prior to his current endeavors, Matthew spent six years with News Corporation including its subsidiaries: Fox News Channel, British Sky Broadcasting, and the New York Post. Matthew’s first entrepreneurial endeavor was a snack food business with partner Nicholas Logothetis, while attending high school at Salisbury School. The company grew substantially in its first year of operations, and was sold 2 years later. The business eventually became the inspiration for the “Entrepreneurial Studies” program at Salisbury School. Matthew holds a BA from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. Anu is the founder of F Cubed – a $5M seed-stage fund investing in companies founded by women. Prior to this, she has been a serial entrepreneur starting in 2005 when she left her job at Zagat in NYC to start her first venture setting up India’s first wine bar, The Tasting Room, in Bombay.  Following this, after completing an MBA at London Business School, Anu went on to co-found Exclusively.In, a private sale e-commerce site focused on bringing the best of South Asian fashion, jewelry, and home decor to the global audience. One year after launch in May 2011, the company raised approx $20M in funding and Anu secured a 7x return for her angel investors in 12 months. Following this, she took on a role as acting CEO of Doonya, a national dance fitness company inspired by Bollywood. Anu ventured into the space of investing and advising in female-founded start-ups starting wtih  Lover.ly, BeautyBooked, Artstar, and L-Atitude amongst others.

Asif Khan

Partnerships Advisor

Asif Khan is an international development and corporate partnerships professional focused on gender equality, education and poverty alleviation, who has worked for the United Nations Foundation, the Mobile Alliance for Maternal Action (MAMA) in New York and Washington managing and creating successful partnerships with companies, foundations, bi-laterals and UN agencies. He currently serves as Associate Director, Partnerships for Action Against Hunger, and consults for the tech company, Wonderloop.

Prior to joining the development world Asif worked in corporate finance and investment management at The Jordan Company and AllianceBernstein.

He also has field work experience with the National Commission for Human Development (NCHD), Pakistan in Azad Kashmir, and has lived and worked in the UK, USA, Pakistan, Turkey, Spain and Argentina.

Asif has a BA in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and an MA in International Relations from the University of Warwick in the UK. He is fluent in English, Spanish, Urdu, Turkish.
